Pastor Emmanuel spoke with conviction about the necessity of understanding one’s purpose in life before making such a significant commitment. He stated, “If you don’t know who you are, what you are doing with your life, your God-given assignment, you don’t choose a life partner.” He explained that many people select partners without a clear sense of their own purpose, leading to frustration when their partner fails to meet their expectations or support their personal goals.
The pastor highlighted the common scenario where individuals discover their true purpose only after settling down, resulting in regret and dissatisfaction if their partner does not align with their newfound clarity. “Some choose a life partner without knowing their purpose and end up frustrated by petty things because the partner has nothing to offer,” he noted.
