Steven Furtick Urges Letting Go of the Past

Pastor Steven Furtick has delivered a powerful sermon, urging his congregation to let go of the past to make space for God’s new blessings. “I wasn’t losing it, God was moving it,” he declared, highlighting that change is often part of God’s plan.

He challenged listeners to humble themselves and ask, “God, what do you want to do in my Joppa?” He warned that holding on to old ways of thinking and past desires could cause one to miss the miracles happening in the present. “If you hold on to what’s old, the way you thought, what you wanted, and how it was, you might miss today’s miracle,” he cautioned.

Drawing from Leviticus 26:10, he reminded the audience: “You will still be eating last year’s harvest.” He emphasized that while the old is not inherently bad, it’s essential to make room for the new: “A new covenant, a new day, a new season.”
