Apostle Joshua Selman recently shared a powerful sermon highlighting the importance of having key people in one’s life to face challenges, stressing that no matter how blessed someone may be, there will come a time when outside help is necessary.
“Even Jesus, your Jesus, when he was on his way to Golgotha, got to a point where he was weak. He had lost blood and fell with the cross. There needed to be a man who volunteered to carry the cross for him,” he explained, underscoring the necessity of support during difficult times.
In his sermon, the apostle outlined four categories of people he believes are crucial to success: divine connectors, influential figures, gifted individuals, and burden bearers.
He pointed out the importance of divine connectors—people who may not have the ability to help directly but can connect you to the right people. “They can’t help you, but they know who can,” he said.
He also emphasized the value of influential people who are willing to invest their credibility and resources in others. “They are willing to invest their credibility and their track record to help you rise,” he added.
Selman also stressed the need for gifted individuals who can deliver tangible results. “Sometimes you need more than kindness, you need results,” he said.
Lastly, he talked about burden bearers—those who help prevent setbacks. “The assignment of the burden bearers is not to move you forward; they are the ones who stop you from going backward,” he explained.
Selman warned that lacking these four types of people could lead to struggles in life. “If you do not have these 4 categories of people in your life, you are in trouble. If you have to pay for everything by yourself, you are in trouble,” he cautioned.
He emphasized that money cannot solve all problems, saying, “Money cannot buy anything. You will need the hearts of men. Somebody must believe in you enough to stake their lives.”
Selman also reminded the congregation of the importance of building meaningful relationships. “You cannot be a general friend to everybody. Somebody will see you and keep you in the holy of holies of your heart.”
His message left a lasting impact on the audience, encouraging them to value the role of others in their journey toward personal and spiritual success.
