Apostle Michael Orokpo Outlines Key Principles for Effective Witnessing in Faith

Apostle Michael Orokpo

In a compelling sermon, Apostle Michael Orokpo has underscored the significance of being a strong witness for Christ, encouraging believers to surrender completely to the Holy Spirit. “It is not enough to just have the Spirit; you must be yielded to the Spirit,” he remarked. He elaborated that while many Christians possess the Holy Spirit, they often fail to exhibit His power because they do not walk in the Spirit.

Referencing Acts 8:29, he emphasized the importance of being sensitive to and obedient to the Holy Spirit. “When you hear the Spirit’s voice, you must obey,” he advised, affirming that genuine submission to God empowers believers to effectively share their faith with others.

He also highlighted the necessity of preaching and teaching the truth about Christ. “Witnessing goes beyond standing on the pulpit; it’s about expressing God’s goodness and saving grace until a generation encounters Him,” he articulated. Citing Mark 16:15 and Romans 10:14, he stated, “If you want the world to be warned, become the preacher. Talk about Christ and His goodness.”

He further noted that prayer is crucial for impactful witnessing. “You must pray for empowerment, for the hand of God, and for resources to ensure your message is heard,” he encouraged. He explained that prayer activates angels to support believers in their endeavors, referring to Acts 12 as an instance where the church’s prayers led to miraculous outcomes.

Moreover, he urged believers to live Christ-like lives. “Every true witness does not just preach; they live it. You are the light,” he proclaimed, referencing Matthew 5:14. He also stressed the importance of love in witnessing, asserting, “A man who does not have love in his spirit is not qualified to be a witness.”

Lastly, he encouraged sharing personal faith experiences. “Tell people about your own encounters with God so they know you speak from experience, not just from a holy book,” he said, highlighting that personal testimonies can foster hope and faith in others.

Through his teachings, Apostle Orokpo seeks to equip believers with the necessary tools to become effective witnesses in their communities, urging them to adopt a Spirit-filled life driven by love.
