Renowned preacher Apostle Arome Osayi has drawn a link between the spiritual connection believers share with Christ and the foundation of marriage, emphasizing the divine nature of human relationships.
During a recent sermon, Apostle Osayi declared, “Anyone that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him.” He explained that this mystical connection forms the foundation of marriage in divine law, stating, “in Christ, we are one Spirit with Him, and with your wife, you are one body with her.”
He described marriage as “a theatre that expresses that mystical unit,” where partners become more interconnected over time. “The reason why they too shall become one is because they are uniquely one in the Lord, so they have a destiny to become more fused into each other,” he elaborated. According to him, this bond is more than just companionship—it is a “destiny partnership.”
Referencing biblical history, Osayi noted that when God created humanity, He did so “in bunches.” He clarified, “In the first bunch, the woman was in the band. So they had to bring the woman out of man to become that partner.”
He also cited the relationship between Moses and Aaron as an example of divine partnerships that extend beyond marriage. “Moses was a stammerer, and his duty as a prophet required that he would speak to power,” Osayi explained. “Meanwhile, Aaron had been called alongside him. Aaron was the one that had utterance, while Moses had the spiritual stature to download the mind of God.” He noted that such divine connections allow individuals to fulfill their purpose together.
Encouraging believers to recognize and value their spiritual relationships, Apostle Osayi stated, “Just before it is too late, you begin to find in the midst of the congregation people that you are actually tied to in destiny. Your wife is the first one. You will find others.” He further emphasized, “There is a power that binds us together, and that power is stronger than flesh and blood. It is something in Christ—the mystical union that unites us.”
