Building A Relationship With God Over Material Wealth-Archbishop Duncan-Williams

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams expressed concern for those who equate intelligence and wealth with success, particularly among the younger generation. He cautioned that while social media, money, and power may seem paramount, there will come a time when these things fall short.

“People who think intelligence is everything, who think money is everything—I feel very sorry for them,” Duncan-Williams stated. He emphasized that true security and support come from a relationship with God, especially in times of trouble. “God will come through for you when you spend time with Him now before trouble comes,” he urged, highlighting the importance of investing in spiritual matters ahead of crises.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams spotlighted that many people realize too late the importance of a relationship with God. “In the day of trouble, He will remember you because you gave Him attention,” he clarified, noting that waiting until disaster strikes often leads to feelings of desperation and regret. “It is not in the day of trouble… when you hear people say, ‘Oh my God,’ it is too late,” he warned.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams encourages the younger generation to give God their undivided attention and to build a strong relationship with Him before challenges arise. “Make time to have a relationship with God before the day of trouble comes,” he implored, reminding them that God is above all earthly powers and is the ultimate source of strength and guidance.
