Gospel artist Ebuka Songs took to Facebook yesterday to share a deeply personal prayer, expressing his desire for spiritual purity and devotion to God. In the post, titled “Lord Keep my Heart,” Ebuka reflected on the fleeting nature of human desires and the need for a heart dedicated to God’s honor.
“Many have come and gone, with different desires and motives,” he wrote. “But Lord, for the sake of the generation before me and the ones to come, please preserve my heart for your honor.”
Ebuka continued by asking God to remove any personal ambitions or hidden desires that do not align with His will, seeking a life where only God’s presence is visible through him: “Kill what is left of me, so that only you will be seen in me. Every hidden appetite that’s not of you will die.”
He concluded the post by quoting Isaiah 51:6 (NIV), a verse emphasizing the temporary nature of the earth and its inhabitants, contrasted with the eternal promise of God’s salvation: “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.”
