Dr. Boadi Nyamekye Stresses Living in Reverence to God

In a recent sermon, Dr. Michael Boadi Nyamekye, a well-known preacher, has emphasized the crucial role of living a life rooted in the fear and respect of God. He explained that true reverence for God is demonstrated not just through worship, but by respecting His divine principles and sovereignty.

“When somebody is walking in the fear of God, the best thing is to respect the things of God,” Dr. Nyamekye shared. “The person doesn’t desecrate the holy.”

He further clarified that fearing God goes beyond merely avoiding sin, as it involves living in harmony with God’s teachings and not rebelling against His authority. Drawing on the Greek term hamartia for sin, Dr. Nyamekye explained that sin is fundamentally rebellion against God’s sovereignty.

“The person who truly fears God is not living in rebellion to the tenets of God,” Dr. Nyamekye noted. “Sin, from the word hamartia, means rebellion against the sovereignty of God. Anyone who is living in sin is, in essence, a rebel.”

He also pointed out that rebellion against God is not always outwardly visible through extreme actions, such as violence or militancy. Instead, many people act as “rebels with makeups,” neglecting to align with God’s wisdom, principles, and authority.

“We have a lot of rebels who are not holding guns and they are not in any militia, but they are rebels because they are rebelling against the sovereignty of God, the wisdom of God, the tenets of God,” Dr. Nyamekye warned. “If you are living like that, there is a problem.”
