Texas Megachurch Pastor Retires Following Arrest for Solicitation of Prostitution

Texas

A prominent Texas pastor has stepped down from his role following his arrest in a prostitution sting operation at a massage parlor.

Rev. John F. Fiedler, who led Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, officially retired on December 31, 2024, according to church records. The church, which serves a congregation of 15,000 members, has not publicly commented on the circumstances surrounding his departure.

According to police reports, the arrest took place on October 2, 2024, during an investigation into Massage Ease, a Carrollton-based business suspected of illegal activities. Authorities had been monitoring the establishment after learning it had been acquired by an individual previously charged with promoting prostitution in Oklahoma.

Fiedler later turned himself in to authorities on October 31, 2024, in response to an arrest warrant for solicitation of prostitution. He was released the same day on a $1,000 bond.

While details of any legal proceedings remain unclear, the case has sparked discussions within the Christian community regarding leadership accountability and moral integrity.
