Pastor Enoch – Guard Your Heart and Find Strength

Pastor Enoch has called on Christians to focus on inner purity and develop emotional resilience, stressing that small, unnoticed changes in the heart can gradually lead people away from their faith.

“Nobody stops going to church on the day they stop going,” he stated. “Something happens in their heart first—something nobody sees—but it changes their direction.”

Drawing from James 4:8, he urged the congregation to seek closeness with God: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” He clarified that being double-minded doesn’t necessarily mean being sinful but having divided loyalties.

Citing Solomon as an example, Pastor Enoch warned against divided affections: “The Bible says Solomon loved the Lord, and if God says he loved the Lord, he truly did. But later, his heart turned to other gods because he also loved women. That’s the danger—loving God but also holding on to something else.”

He addressed the issue of relying on external validation, advising against letting other people’s actions dictate one’s emotions: “Stop expecting life to be fair or people to be kind. Some of you let your whole day be ruined just because someone frowned at you. That’s low self-esteem—constantly needing validation.”

Encouraging self-reliance, he said: “People carry baggage and are looking for dumping sites, but you must deflect it. I am not your dumping site. Your feelings are your feelings, and your baggage is your baggage.”

Pastor Enoch emphasized the importance of maintaining inner joy, even within the church: “Nobody owes you kindness or smiles. The same people you meet at the bank and the market are in the church—they’ve just changed clothes. Find your joy and guard your heart.”
