Archbishop Duncan-Williams Cautions Against Ingratitude

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has urged people to always acknowledge God’s role in their lives and to appreciate those who have supported them on their journey.

Speaking during a sermon, the founder of Action Chapel International stressed the importance of gratitude, reminding his audience to never forget where they started.

“Never forget and ignore that God factor of your life and always remember from when you have come. Give God the glory and the honor, and then return kindness to those who showed you kindness in your journey of life,” he emphasized.

He warned against disregarding people after attaining success, noting that self-sufficiency is an illusion.

“Don’t be ungrateful, because the opposite of gratitude is ingratitude. Ingratitude is when you come to a place and think, ‘I don’t need anybody,’ including those who showed you kindness. And you treat people with contempt because you think you don’t need them anymore. You are lying,” he stated.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams further cautioned that life often brings people back to those they once overlooked, encouraging his audience to take every opportunity to return kindness.

“Make no mistakes, there will come a time when you will need somebody. So when it is in your power to show kindness to people who have shown you kindness before, do it—for your own good and the good of your children, your loved ones, and what concerns you,” he advised.
