Sonnie Badu Warns Against ‘Achan’ In One’s Life

Renowned gospel minister, Pastor Sonnie Badu, has urged believers to examine their lives and surroundings, drawing lessons from the biblical story of Achan in Joshua 7. He emphasized that despite God’s promises, unseen disobedience within one’s circle can lead to setbacks.

“God promises Joshua, ‘Whatsoever the soles of your feet shall step, I, God, will give you, just as I promised Moses,’” Pastor Badu reminded his audience. However, he explained that when Joshua sent his men to battle, they were unexpectedly defeated by a smaller city.

“Joshua ripped his clothes into pieces, put dirt on his face, and angrily prayed to God, asking, ‘Why did you let my enemies win over me?’” he recounted.

God’s response, he stressed, was clear: “Then God said, ‘Joshua, it’s not me. My promise still stands. There’s somebody within your camp that has touched an accursed thing. Bring them out—tribe by tribe, man for man, clan by clan—and I’ll pick them up.’”

Pastor Badu noted that through this process, Achan was identified as the one who had disobeyed, bringing trouble upon Israel. Drawing a parallel to present-day struggles, he challenged believers to reflect on their own battles. “Could it be that the reason why you’re losing battles in life is that there’s an Achan within your camp—someone who has touched what they’re not supposed to touch and has affected everything?”

Leading a prayer session, he called for divine intervention against hidden adversaries. “So I pray for you—any Achan around you, posing as a good friend or a good family member yet behind your troubles—may God expose them. May God take them out so you will win battles in 2025.”

He concluded with a prophetic declaration: “This year is your year of dominion.”
