Renowned preacher Dr. David Jeremiah has shed light on the profound changes that occur when individuals accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour, emphasizing the transformative nature of the Christian faith.
Quoting Scripture, Dr. Jeremiah declared, “The Bible says that when you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive Him into your life, something happens to you, and you change. You can’t be the same.”
He stressed that accepting Christ leads to internal transformation rather than superficial adjustments. “If you can accept Jesus Christ and be the same as you were before Him, what do you need Him for? When He comes to live within you, stuff starts to change,” he remarked.
Dr. Jeremiah illustrated his point with examples of personal stories, noting, “Some people, when they become Christians, immediately throw away their alcohol, cigarettes, or anything they feel doesn’t honor God. But for most, it’s a gradual process. The Holy Spirit sets up shop in your heart and works on you little by little.”
He emphasized that while the pace of change varies for each person, transformation is a universal experience for Christians. “Some people are on a steady trajectory, while others experience ups and downs. But change is true for everybody who has become a Christian,” he explained.
In closing, he highlighted the essence of Christian transformation. “It’s not reform, which comes from the outside in. Transformation is from the inside out because Jesus Christ now lives within you. He makes you into a different person in unique ways,” Dr. Jeremiah said, before ending with a call to reflection, asking, “Can I get a witness?”
