Prominent preacher Apostle Arome Osayi has highlighted the importance of divine revelation over the mere longing for open visions, asserting that true spiritual understanding comes from recognizing God’s established patterns as revealed in Scripture.
Discussing the significance of the Old and New Covenants, Apostle Osayi referenced Hebrews 10:1, stating that the Old Covenant served as a shadow of greater things to come. “If you are under the sun, a shadow is cast. If a shadow is cast, what it means is that the reality is not too far away,” he explained.
He emphasized that Moses was the chosen vessel through whom God disclosed His ways, shaping biblical history. “It was Moses that in his presentation of the theory of creation, God worked for six days and on the seventh day, God rested, establishing the order of seven,” he noted. He further pointed out that this divine structure is evident throughout the Bible, citing references in the Book of Revelation such as “seven trumpets, seven seals, seven horns, and seven eyes.”
Apostle Osayi also recounted a personal encounter where someone expressed a desire to see open visions like him. In response, he guided the individual through a Bible study, advising him to seek a deeper understanding of spiritual realities instead. “Instead of desiring to have open visions, go and trust God for revelation to understand the spiritual things that have already been crystallized into the framework,” he advised.
Expounding on the limitations of the Old Covenant, he referred to Galatians and stressed that the law acted as a guide leading believers to Christ. “If you’re a good student of the law, you would see three deficiencies that the law has, and those deficiencies are filled up in Christ,” he remarked.
Highlighting the contrast between Moses and the Israelites, he pointed out that while Moses comprehended God’s ways, the people merely enacted them. “Spiritual things were demonstrated so that when you see those things, you will understand how their spiritual counterpart really is,” he explained, adding, “the best vision you will ever see is the Old Testament.”
