Internationally recognized preacher and author Joyce Meyer has urged believers to seek a deeper understanding of the Bible, reminding them of God’s constant presence and interest in their lives.
In a recent sermon, she declared, “There is nothing, nothing that you do that God is not interested in, and there’s no place that you go that God is not there. You’re never alone.”
Focusing on John chapter 21, she emphasized the richness of scripture, encouraging a deliberate and reflective reading approach. “It amazes me. I continue to be amazed at how much is in just one chapter of the Bible,” she said. “But if we just read through it many times, we miss a lot of what’s there.”
As she delved into the story of Peter and the disciples returning to fishing after Jesus’ death, she highlighted the lesson of staying steadfast in faith. “You’ve got to be careful if you feel like Jesus hasn’t shown up in your life for a while, that you don’t decide to just go back and do what you used to do,” she warned.
She also reflected on the influence of leaders, explaining how their actions often set an example for others. “Whatever a leader does, people will follow. If you want to lead something, you better be leading people in the right direction because now you’re responsible for them too,” she remarked.
She linked the disciples’ unsuccessful fishing trip to modern challenges, encouraging believers to trust in God’s plan. “See what happens when you just jump up and make your own decision and do your own thing? They caught nothing,” she pointed out. “Some of you haven’t caught anything in a long time, and you don’t understand why God is not blessing your plan. God doesn’t have to bless our plan. His plan is already blessed.”
Her insights resonated deeply, reminding her audience of the value of faith, responsible leadership, and alignment with God’s purpose. The program, made possible by friends and partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries, offered a fresh perspective on the timeless lessons found in scripture.
