Christian author and speaker Priscilla Shirer has urged believers to remain steadfast in their faith, emphasizing the rewards of obedience and the profound impact of God’s presence. Addressing an audience recently, Shirer shared insights into how trusting God can lead to spiritual growth and liberation.
“The outcome of obedience is always freedom and victory, and it’s hard to see that from this perspective,” She remarked. “But if we trust God, then when we sense that conviction of the Holy Spirit to not say this, to not buy this, to not eat all of this, to restrain ourselves, it’s because there’s freedom and victory that He’s trying to lead us to.”
She also reflected on the power of God’s presence, describing moments where His nearness is almost tangible. “Sometimes hearing God is less about having a specific word and more about just the nearness of His presence, just knowing that He’s near,” she explained.
She went on to describe such experiences as deeply moving, saying, “There are times where He manifests Himself in a way where the hair on the back of your neck stands up—goosebumps. And in those moments, once you start sensing the nearness of God in that way, you’re ruined for just doing stuff because it’s what you’re supposed to be doing.”
