Apostle Joshua Selman Speaks On Social Media Addiction

Apostle Joshua Selman recently delivered a powerful sermon urging his congregation, particularly the youth, to free themselves from the overwhelming need for social media validation. He emphasized the importance of self-reliance and distancing oneself from toxic influences.

“Delete some numbers from your phone, break away from certain associations, and say, ‘I found a light,'” he encouraged. “I’m not as weak as you have made me look. I’m not a nonentity as you have made me look.”

He also addressed the damaging obsession many young people have with gaining approval from others, particularly on social media. “Gentlemen, conquer this obsession for acceptance,” he said. “Don’t be a slave to social media. Social media is wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but there is a cancer eating up young people. They cannot live without it.”

The preacher warned about the harmful impact of unsolicited opinions on social media, highlighting how critics can easily derail one’s confidence. “That is the whatever review you hear from there,” he stated. “People who are going nowhere sit down and keep commenting on your life and destiny, and you eat up everything that they are saying. It affects you.”
