Pastor Agyeman Elvis, the founder and leader of Grace Mountain Church, as well as the convener of Alpha Hour, an online prayer platform, has emphasized the importance of not limiting oneself to just English when spreading the gospel.
In a recent post on his Facebook page, Pastor Elvis encouraged believers to preach in multiple languages, such as French, Twi, Hausa, or any other language they are proficient in. He stressed that it is important to not be shy about using one’s local dialect, as not everyone is able to understand English.
He writes:
Don’t limit yourself to just one language in the matter of the preaching of the Gospel. Preach Christ in English if you can, twi, Hausa, ibgo, french, yoruba, , spanish if you can.
Your perfect expressions won’t save the soul. The message of the cross does. Don’t be shy to preach in your local dialect, not all understand the English language.
Don’t be blinded with globalism and internationalism. The difference between the soul in your locality and the soul abroad is air plane. Flying across the sea won’t make your impact so special. A soul is a soul. Win some at all cost even when they are not international. Lay aside branding and packaging for a moment and let’s talk about the eternal destiny of people who didn’t go to school.
Considering the way this generation sees ministry, whereby someone can boldly say I can’t preach in my local dialect though he talks, jokes and argue in that same language, I tremble. Who will win the uneducated in our time? Who will reach out to them?
Do that preaching or singing in the language that those you are in touch with will understand. Do English and do other languages too. The gospel is not only powerful in English, it is powerful in all languages. It can save anyone who can hear it, understand it and believe it. Strive to present the gospel to all languages and tongues.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
The enemy is taking over all languages. The whore is sitting on peoples, multitudes and tongues. We can’t limit ourselves to one language in the name of branding. Push on to impact. You are not local because you preach in a local dialect, you are only impact conscious. It is a sign that you are not building a self acclaimed vision, but you are on a mission for the limitless God who seeks that ALL BE SAVED.
