Apostle Michael Orokpo has urged Christians to embrace their divine identity, emphasizing that those who believe in Christ possess God’s DNA and are empowered to rise above the challenges of the fallen world.
Speaking during a sermon, he explained that the Holy Spirit within believers grants them authority, dominion, and the ability to live victoriously.
Apostle Orokpo laid the foundation for his message by stating, “For a man to be born of God, he must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.” He explained that this belief is the starting point of a transformation that makes believers children of God.
He elaborated on the role of the Holy Spirit in establishing a believer’s identity. “God sends His Spirit into you after you believe in Christ. The Spirit cries, ‘Abba Father,’ affirming your identity as God’s child. This Spirit in us is the same Spirit of God, making us inseparable from Him,” he said.
Using an African cultural analogy, Apostle Orokpo highlighted the importance of lineage. “In Africa, adopted children may be loved while the father is alive, but after his death, blood relatives challenge their claims. Similarly, in the spiritual realm, it’s the DNA of God in us that establishes our authority and inheritance,” he remarked.
He stressed that this divine DNA ensures victory over any worldly or spiritual opposition. “How can you be of God and be demonized? How can you be of God and die of frustration? It’s not possible. I am of God,” he declared confidently.
Referring to 1 John 3:9, Apostle Orokpo said the Holy Spirit empowers believers to overcome sin and the struggles of the fallen man. “The moment the Holy Ghost came into you, He started the program of making you invincible,” he affirmed.
Apostle Orokpo concluded by encouraging Christians to live out their God-given authority. “Jesus said it is expedient that I go, for if I don’t, God will be trapped in me alone. But now, God is in everybody who believes,” he explained. “We are not just carrying God’s nature; we are His living address. When you scratch me, you will find God.”
He reminded believers that their faith secures their victory. “Whoever is born of God overcomes the world,” he quoted, challenging them to walk confidently in their divine dominion.
