Sonnie Badu: National Cathedral is a Personal Vow, Not a Collective One

Sonnie Badu

Gospel musician and preacher Dr. Sonnie Badu has shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate over Ghana’s National Cathedral, suggesting that the controversy arises from the individual nature of President Akufo-Addo’s promise to build it.

Speaking on Empire FM’s ShowBiz, Dr. Badu underscored the importance of honoring personal vows, and stressed on the gravity of such promises. “If he made a vow to God, then he must honor it, and that is a personal matter between him and God,” Dr. Badu remarked.

The preacher raised concerns about the involvement of the entire nation in fulfilling what he believes to be a personal commitment, arguing that this collective approach is a source of confusion. “The reason for the problems and confusion is that it wasn’t a collective vow,” he explained.
