Prayer Unlocks Creativity and Provision – T.D. Jakes

Renowned preacher Bishop T.D. Jakes has shared an insightful perspective on prayer, highlighting how it serves as a tool to inspire creativity and unlock potential within existing resources.

“I often tell people that God doesn’t make chairs, and he doesn’t make tables. He only makes trees,” he explained, emphasizing that divine provision often requires human effort and ingenuity.

He clarified that while prayer is essential, it is not a substitute for action. “I’m not saying that you should pray till you see a table because God’s not going to make a table. But if praying calms you to the point that you look at a tree and now you see how to make a table, then prayer puts you in a place of provision,” he said.

The preacher described prayer as a grounding force that stimulates creativity and problem-solving. “Prayer anchors your soul. And it releases your creativity and tells you what to do with what you’ve got,” he remarked.

Drawing from scripture, he noted that many biblical miracles occurred using resources that were already available to those seeking help. “If you look in the scriptures, almost every miracle in the scriptures occurred by the prophet or Christ using something that the person already had,” he stated, citing examples like the feeding of the 5,000 with two fish and five loaves of bread, the widow’s pot of oil, and the handful of meal.

He urged believers to seek God’s guidance in uncovering hidden opportunities within their lives. “If you pray, God will show you something that is unique that exists in your house that He will use to bless your life,” he affirmed.
