Founder of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) Pastor Jerry Eze has spoken passionately about individual purpose, using Gideon’s story to illustrate the importance of personal responsibility in fulfilling one’s destiny.
He referenced the angel’s words to Gideon, “The Lord is with you, mighty man of valor,” emphasizing that God’s call was directed specifically at Gideon, not the group around him.
“Destiny is not ‘us’; it is you,” he stated, urging listeners to stop viewing their purpose collectively and recognize their unique calling. “He didn’t visit us; He visited you,” he stressed, reminding them that God entrusts each person with a distinct mandate.
According to him, too many people fail to realize their potential because they constantly compare themselves to others: “Your assignment is not us.”he further explained, “If you get it right, ‘us’ will be impacted,” emphasizing that fulfilling one’s calling can positively influence others.
He encouraged listeners to break free from group mentality, declaring, “You are not us; there’s something about you.” The sermon concluded with a powerful reminder that each person is chosen to make a difference, and by embracing this, they can transform lives.
