In a frank conversation with Berla Mundi on the Day Show, acclaimed highlife musician Ofori Amponsah revealed that he has a remarkable spiritual ability—prophecy—granted to him by God. “I don’t want to discuss it today, but it’s like a gift… I can say that in the year 2020, this would happen,” he shared, affirming his skill to predict future occurrences.
The ‘Otoolege’ artist explained how he uses his music career to convey this divine insight. “It’s a gift, and I was doing this in church before I became Ofori Amponsah. Music became my platform. For instance, when I’m in the studio, I might receive a message that something will happen in 2020, so I incorporate it into my song since I don’t have a church,” he said.
Ofori highlighted that the ability to prophesy is even more meaningful to him than his musical talent. “That’s actually my gift, even more than the music,” he noted, illustrating the strong link between his spiritual mission and his creative output.
Reflecting on his past, Ofori mentioned that he was engaged in church singing and worship well before achieving fame. “Ofori Amponsah was already in church, singing in church before I became Ofori Amponsah. So, it’s not like I was trying to turn my life around; I was already doing that,” he explained.
He also talked about his choice to take a break from music during a tough time in his life. “I was going off track and needed to rediscover myself. I believe that taking a break was very beneficial for me because I was somewhat lost until I stepped back and returned. Now, I am more successful than ever—hundred times more,” he stated.
