Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has been named Chairman of the Church Health Commission by the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. His appointment came during the Executive Committee’s recent gathering in Accra.
As Chairman, Rev. Wengam will focus on fostering church health and ensuring sustainable growth within Assemblies of God congregations worldwide. This new role also grants him a place in the Fellowship’s Cabinet, further expanding his leadership responsibilities on a global scale.
Currently, Rev. Wengam also serves as Vice Chairman of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, reflecting his prominent role in both continental and international church leadership.
Alongside his appointment, Rev. Paul Thangiah, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in India, was named Vice Chairman of the Church Health Commission. These appointments set the stage for the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, which will take place in Accra in 2026 – marking the first time this prestigious event will be hosted on the African continent.
