Renowned preacher, Apostle Joshua Selman has recently shared insights on how individuals can uncover their divine purpose. He emphasized that purpose isn’t something to be invented, but discovered, urging the congregation to recognize the gifts they’ve been given.
“You don’t invent your purpose, you discover it,” Apostle Selman stated. “You were sent with it. There are many ways to discover it, and one of the key ways is through the use of your potentials.”
He explained that a person’s natural abilities serve as indicators of their purpose. “If you see an individual holding a stethoscope, you call them a doctor. If you see someone with a hammer and nails, that person is a carpenter. Your potential is a sign of what you’re meant to do,” he remarked.
In addition, he spoke about how prophetic revelations play a role in discovering purpose. “God speaks through dreams, visions, and prophetic confirmations. These experiences guide you towards your true purpose,” he noted.
Apostle Selman also highlighted service in the house of God as a significant path to purpose. “Sometimes, it’s through service that you really discover what God has put in your heart,” he explained. Using the example of Philip, who began in welfare before becoming an evangelist, he said, “You can start as an usher and end up as a mighty apostle.”
Encouraging his audience to refine their talents, he concluded, “When you discover your potentials, even if you don’t know where you are taking it to, begin to refine it. Serve faithfully, and eventually, God will commit to you your own work.”
