Pastor Jerry Eze Warns Against Envy

Jerry Eze

In a heartfelt message, Pastor Jerry Eze has expressed the damaging effects of envy, encouraging his listeners to find joy in the successes of others rather than feeling unsettled.

“If you are working with envy, if you are walking with envy, if the blessing of another person unsettles you, you are going to be stopping new things from happening in your own life,” he cautioned.

He urged people to wholeheartedly support others’ achievements, even when their own desires remain unmet. “Be happy for others, celebrate other people’s miracles,” he advised.

Recognizing the difficulty, he added, “Sometimes it’s not easy for you because you have been praying for the same thing and next thing they are coming, they are giving you a wedding card… and that wicked thought just passed through your heart.”

Pastor Eze warned against quiet, internalized envy that arises when others achieve things we might desire, stating, “Never let another person’s blessing make you envious. Envy is only a foundation to many ugly things that will be revealed.”Calling envy “selfish” and “demonic,” he stressed that envy harms the person harboring it, blocking them from their own blessings.

“Envy wants people to take permission from him before they are blessed by God,” he explained, noting, “Envy comes in an unchecked heart… even the carriers of envy are calling other people envious.”He challenged his audience to examine their reactions to others’ achievements. “How you know envy is… that is how you celebrate others for their wins even when it does not concern you,” he concluded.
