Apostle Michael Orokpo Emphasizes the Power of Truth in Spiritual Warfare

Apostle Michael Orokpo

Apostle Michael Orokpo has emphasized that many Christians face unnecessary struggles in their prayer lives because they rely on emotion rather than the biblical provisions of truth, drawing from Ephesians 6:10-17.

In a recent sermon, Apostle Orokpo delivered a powerful message about the critical role of truth in spiritual warfare. He warned against the common misconception that fervent prayer, marked by physical exertion and sweat, automatically defeats the enemy. He highlighted that prayer must be rooted in the will of God for it to be effective. “Sweat does not deal with Satan,” Apostle Orokpo stressed, reminding believers that even Jesus sweated in Gethsemane, but ultimately surrendered to God’s will, understanding that true authority in prayer comes from aligning with divine truth.

Referencing Ephesians 6, he noted that the first piece of spiritual armor is the “belt of truth.” This foundational weapon equips believers to stand firm against the strategies of the enemy. “How much truth do you know?” he challenged the congregation, urging them to seek personal revelation of biblical truths rather than relying solely on the testimonies of others. “Thank God for testimonies – they can inspire you. But they are not weapons for battle. You must find truth for yourself in Scripture.”

Apostle Orokpo underscored that without understanding the truth of the gospel, no amount of prayer or fasting will bring victory. It is the knowledge of being positioned about Christ that empowers believers to win spiritual battles. He explained that prayer releases the glory of God from within, a glory that was lost through sin but restored through Christ. Citing John 17:22, Apostle Orokpo explained that this glory is not about praise or exaltation, which belongs to God alone, but about the nature and excellence of God dwelling within believers.

He also emphasized that when believers pray, the glory of God manifests in various forms—whether through wisdom, power, or favor. “By all means, glory must manifest,” he declared, urging the church to move beyond external appearances and focus on being “clothed with glory.” This manifestation of God’s glory, Apostle Orokpo explained, is the true key to overcoming challenges and accessing divine favor.

In his closing remarks, Apostle Orokpo urged believers to anchor their prayers in the Word of God and to meditate on Scripture consistently. “We are tired of seeing haircuts and suits,” he said, driving home the point that outer appearances pale in comparison to the inner transformation that comes from being clothed in God’s glory.

This message serves as a wake-up call for Christians to prioritize truth in their spiritual lives and to understand that victory in spiritual warfare comes from a deep knowledge of God’s Word and His truth. As Apostle Orokpo reminded the church, “No matter how you pray or fast if you have not sorted the issue of truth, you will never win.”
