Pastor Poju Encourages Bold Action in Pursuing Opportunities

Poju Oyemade

Founder of The Covenant Nation, Pastor Poju Oyemade, has urged individuals to embrace opportunities without hesitation, emphasizing that financial limitations should not be a barrier to taking action.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Pastor Oyemade stressed the importance of acting on ideas before worrying about resources. “If we see an opportunity to do something, first of all, embrace it before you find out how to do it,” he stated.

Sharing a personal experience, he recounted a time he considered a building project. “Once I wanted to do a building, I was told to make sure I start by saying yes. I dropped the phone,” he said. When he received a follow-up call, he was reminded, “I hope you know we don’t have money to start.”

He explained that projects should begin with a declaration of faith rather than financial readiness. “You don’t start it with money. Do you get what I’m saying? How do you start it? By saying—not that we are going to build, but that we have finished building,” he emphasized.

Pastor Oyemade further encouraged the practice of speaking faith into existence. “It doesn’t cost you anything to speak. God didn’t say you should bring money. All you are doing is giving up fear,” he noted, adding that it is not necessary to announce one’s plans publicly. “Nobody has to hear a word so that you won’t say that they make fun of you. Don’t tell anybody, but say it to yourself in your room repeatedly.”

He also warned against procrastination, explaining that failing to act on divine inspiration could result in someone else executing the same idea. “If God gives you an idea and you use finances to stop yourself from doing it, I guarantee you in six months, somebody else will be doing that thing you got. And when you check that person, you will see that their condition was even worse than your own when you got it,” he pointed out.

Pastor Oyemade’s message highlighted the importance of stepping out in faith, trusting that provision will follow obedience.
