Priscilla Ashirer Highlights the Need for Strong Spiritual Foundation

Priscilla Ashirer recently delivered a powerful message about the importance of building a solid spiritual foundation to endure life’s trials. She urged Christians to develop a deeper connection with God, explaining that true character and resilience come from knowing who God is and recognizing His voice.

“The only way you’re going to have the kind of character that is going to be able to give you structural integrity and sustain you when the storm comes is if you have a firm foundation and you know who your father is,” she said, referring to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

She also referenced notable biblical figures such as Ruth, Esther, and Rahab, who demonstrated unwavering faith. Ashirer warned that without a strong spiritual base, individuals are vulnerable to deception. “The enemy does not come to you with a red jumpsuit and a pitchfork on and say, ‘hey, it’s me,’” she cautioned. “The scriptures say he disguises himself like an Angel of light, which means he is doing his best to play you for the fool.”

She further addressed the issue of a fast-paced, shallow approach to faith, especially among younger generations influenced by social media. “We have a generation of Christians that are growing up too fast, too much weight too soon,” Ashirer observed. “They’re on their social media feeds, Bible study, and they don’t even know who their father is.”

She drew from her own experience as a parent, recalling advice from her pediatrician about being cautious when playing with her young children. “When babies are small, you might go to a pediatrician and I remember being told that I needed to be careful about my habit of bouncing my children on their legs,” she shared. “If you put too much weight on them too soon, it can cause a slight distortion that becomes noticeable when they grow up.” She warned that a similar spiritual distortion occurs when individuals bypass the essential stage of deeply knowing God.

“There’s a limp in their integrity. There’s a limp in their character. There’s a skew in their thinking,” Ashirer remarked, urging Christians to take the necessary time to nurture their faith from the beginning. “You can’t see the distortion in childhood, but when they grow up, there’s a limp.”
