In a recent sermon, Founder of Koinonia, Apostle Joshua Selman has encouraged believers to adopt a proactive mindset when confronting life’s challenges. He referenced the biblical creation narrative to highlight the importance of speaking positivity into negative circumstances rather than simply acknowledging or explaining them.
“You share reports, that is not good. What do you do about it?” Selman challenged his audience, urging them to seek wisdom from the scriptures. “Go to Genesis chapter 1. What did God do when he saw darkness? Did he explain away darkness? No, let there be light.” He underscored the necessity of calling on divine help during personal hardships, such as financial troubles or housing crises.
He addressed the need for wisdom and accountability, urging individuals to recognize their mistakes and seek God’s mercy.”Where it was your carelessness, you take responsibility and cry for mercy. Lord, I cry for mercy for being careless and not planning,” he stated, emphasizing the significance of repentance and dependence on God’s grace.
He further inspired believers to approach God with assurance during difficult times. “In the name of Jesus, you told me I can come boldly and obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need. This is the time of need. The landlord is about to throw me away; I ask for mercy.”
To conclude, Apostle Selman reminded his congregation of the spiritual advantages that accompany faith in God. “Show the excellency of my advantage, having you in my life, and God, for His namesake,” he affirmed.
