Nigerian man of God, Apostle Edu Udechukwu has emphasized that true spiritual strength comes from seeking God in private, stating that anyone who emerges from the “secret place” does so with divine backing.
During a sermon, he stated, “When a man comes out of the secret place, he comes out with the Lord himself. Can’t come out alone,” adding that spending time with God in secret brings “angelic entourage.”
He cautioned against expecting divine intervention without first building a personal relationship with God. “All the wild claims that people make on God to show up in the open when they didn’t know Him well in the secret is just a waste of time,” he remarked. “He is only avowed to demand that know him in the secret, that have tested him in the secrets, that have shown.”
Drawing from biblical examples, Apostle Udechukwu likened spiritual battles to David’s early victories before facing Goliath. “Kill your lion, kill your bear, kill your foxes, kill your dogs. One day, Satan will appear in the open, and you will classify him as one of the dogs that you slew, one of the foxes you slew, one of the lions you slew, one of the bears you slew,” he stated, explaining that overcoming private struggles prepares believers for greater challenges.
He also warned against mistaking boldness for true faith. “Boldface is not faith. If you go to school, you stop listening to those things. That is actually true if it’s based on revelation, but if it is based on ‘I don’t believe, I don’t believe,’ you will believe if you step on something and your leg becomes double the size. Experience will teach you,” he said.
