In a recent interview on Hitz FM, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, leader of the Prophetic Hill Church, voiced his commitment to praying against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections. He expressed his hope that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama, will emerge victorious in the December 7 polls.
Prophet Gaisie told host Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz that he has been “praying against the NPP government to lose” due to what he perceives as mistreatment of both the church and the nation by the current administration. “They have hurt the church, they have hurt the nation, and they have to go. Ghanaians must punish them,” he said.
While sharing his views on political prophecy, Prophet Gaisie acknowledged that his predictions are not always accurate. He clarified that the possibility of error is an aspect of his humanity, noting, “I sometimes get my prophecies wrong. That makes me a human being. Every prophet that gets it 100% is fake.” He explained that prophetic work requires a focused mind and that emotions can sometimes affect interpretation.
Reflecting on his ministry journey, Gaisie attributed some early prophetic mistakes to a lack of guidance from senior leaders when he first began. “Most of us prophets are not educated. And the senior men of faith did not hold us, they didn’t welcome us,” he remarked, mentioning that pastors like Reverend Eastwood Anaba have since stepped in as a positive influence. He noted that, in his late twenties, he lacked the mentorship needed to navigate his prophetic role, leading to mistakes he now sees as avoidable with proper counsel.
He also shared that past prophecies, such as his prediction of Mahama’s win in the 2020 elections, were met with backlash, which he attributes to his inexperience at the time. Prophet Gaisie indicated that if given a second chance, he would communicate such sensitive prophecies differently, taking into account the potential impact on both his ministry and public perception.
