Former President Donald Trump attributed his recent election victory to divine intervention, suggesting that God preserved his life to guide the nation toward restoration. In a speech delivered in Florida early Wednesday, Trump recalled a narrow escape from harm earlier in the year when an assassination attempt left a bullet grazing his ear during a campaign rally in July.
“Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason,” Trump shared with his supporters. “And that reason was to save our country and restore America to greatness.”
At 78, Trump reclaimed the White House after securing the required 270 Electoral College votes. His pivotal win in Wisconsin helped him surpass his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, and regain the presidency. Addressing an energized crowd at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, Trump declared, “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate.”
Many prominent Christian leaders have shared their reactions to Trump’s victory. Evangelist Franklin Graham expressed his congratulations on social media, posting, “Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on being elected the 47th president of the United States of America!
