Apostle Joshua Selman: Pay the Price for Growth

Apostle Joshua Selman

The founder of Koinonia Global, Apostle Joshua Selman has urged Christians to take ownership of their spiritual development, cautioning that merely imitating the actions of spiritually mature individuals does not lead to genuine growth. Using a metaphor, he explained, “Possessing what belongs to an adult does not make you an adult. It is growth. Genuine growth.”

In an Instagram post made on October 10, 2024, Apostle Selman stressed that spiritual growth is not automatic and requires active effort. “Growth is not a gift,” he said, adding, “The grace that produces growth is a gift, but that grace must be engaged to deliver growth.” He likened this to a baby receiving breast milk, emphasizing that while the milk is a gift, the child must take the responsibility to consume it in order to grow.

He also spoke against spiritual stagnation, offering a prayer for those who feel stuck in their journey. “I’m praying for you, whatever has stopped you from growing, let that demonic cancer die from your life,” he fervently prayed, encouraging believers to reach a level where God can trust them to fulfill His mission.

Additionally, Apostle Selman challenged Christians to evolve from merely receiving blessings to becoming active contributors to God’s work. “You are not just in receiving mode alone. You have become a giver by reason of your growth,” he noted, urging believers to mature to the point where God can entrust them with greater tasks.

He also prayed that the spiritual progress of his listeners would reflect the divine investments in their lives, affirming, “God can allocate a space for you in His programme and find rest knowing that there is a worthy ambassador there.”
